Etika Group of Companies has invested over RM100 million to upgrade its modern dairy plant in Meru, Selangor as it sees an exponential increase in local milk production.

In line with its vision and future roadmap for Malaysia, Etika said the new production facility will help support locally produced milk in a bid to increase milk consumption in Malaysia.

“The state-of-the-art facilities will involve advanced and automated technologies for more efficient milk production.

“Currently, Goodday Milk has a range of milk that caters to all types of consumers. Recently, the company launched two lip-smacking variants – Goodday Honey and Goodday Green Tea, to bring new drinkers into the healthy milk category,” it said.

President and chief executive officer Erwin Selvarajah said with more than 2,000 employees and a well-established and comprehensive distribution network across Malaysia, its sales in Malaysia has surpassed RM1 billion annually.

“Our investment of over RM100 million in dairy production in the last two years is testimony to our commitment in making Malaysia our halal dairies hub for the group,” he said.

In addition to the expansion of the Meru plant and recent introduction of new variants, Etika currently operates dairy plants in neighbouring countries including Indonesia and Vietnam.

The company also has an extensive export network to over 30 countries worldwide, primarily in the export of dairy products.

Erwin said these businesses, in various countries with large population and high dairy consumption, will be a growth driver for the company in the coming years.

As one of the most prominent Halal beverage companies in Malaysia, Etika is involved primarily in the manufacturing, selling, marketing and distribution of the leading global and regional beverages, including Goodday Milk, one of the leaders in the dairies category in Malaysia.
