Indonesia’s haj quota returns to pre-2013 level plus additional 10,000: Antara News

The Saudi Arabian government has reverted the quota for Indonesian haj pilgrims this year to 211,000 after the quotas for all countries were cut 20 percent since 2013 to accommodate the expansion of facilities at Al Masjid Al Haram in Mecca, Indonesia's national news agency Antara reported today.

In addition, the Saudi government agreed to Indonesia's request for additional quota of 10,000, taking the country's total to 221,000, said the report citing President Joko Widodo.

According to Antara, nearly 3 million Indonesians are currently on the haj waiting list.
